Western Hemisphere

Network

The Western Hemisphere Network is an APEX initiative uniting healthcare providers across North, Central and South America who care for patients with porphyria. The mission is to foster collaboration among clinicians, improve patient care, address shared challenges, and support advocacy efforts throughout the region.

The group meets monthly to discuss complex cases, management strategies, regional diagnostic capabilities, access to treatment, and other critical issues.

Since 2023, these conversations have also been featured in dedicated sessions at the biennial International Porphyrias Symposia.

Current participants include clinicians from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, and the United States.
